No cooking experience needed but may be acquired in the process.

The rolled oats are the whole oats that are rolled. This is tautology and it's true at the same time. Making rolled oats out of whole oat groats allows us to have oatmeal that cooks a lot faster and is the next best thing compared to whole oats.

So we are going to be using rolled oats here or call it uncooked oatmeal, to make oatmeal.

The history of the oatmeal.

In the beginning there was a field. Then the seeds were sown...

No just kidding. This isn't about it. It's more about how to cook if you have no cooking history.

So grab your uncooked oatmeal and admire it's beauty first. You like it - it will like you back. I really like just the look of this pale off white-tan natural flattened grain with the flour like powdery coating. It taste good even uncooked but you don't need to stop there. Go ahead and grab yourself a little stainless still pan you may have somewhere in the cupboards. If not, the nearest super or another food market will be happy to provide you with one for the price I'm sure you can afford.

While the pan may be also nice just to look at, let's add some ingredients, so that we can get closer to the desired results.

Water. Preferably from a good source, whatever that might be in your area of reach, just use what's best in your opinion. What do I use? I use the least expensive mountain spring water in 1 gallon bottles that my food market can sell me. Oh, and I also rinse the bottle briefly on the outside before pouring water from it at first. Just to make the surface cleaner since the water can run over it before it gets where you want it to go.

So equipped with the water in your pan you are about 75 % through. Turn on one of those round or square things on top of your stove, call it a range if you like, put the pan with water on it and give it a few or several minutes till the water gets hot-warm. No reason to wait for the boiling point. So once it's heated add some uncooked oatmeal/rolled oats and swirl it around with the spoon to help even distribution of the grain in water.

How much of the water and the oatmeal?

If you making your oatmeal and want to eat it all right away and you presently don't have anyone else in your company who is hungry for the oatmeal, in other words- all by yourself, about 2 cups of water should be good. The amount of the rolled oats will be such that it's completely covered with the water in the pan after you swirl it around leaving some water space for the absorption while it's cooking. Don't worry, if you put too much oats so that it absorbs all the water right away just add some more water even if it's not warmed up. All will be fine in the mix.

And if you make more than you can eat at once that is all right too. It will keep in a fridge and you'll have to add a bit of water to it again to warm it up.

So after successfully mixing your rolled oats and water in the pan just be patient for another 3 min or so and give it some stir again in the middle of it and at the end. And keep the heat source at the minimum level once it reaches the boiling point after you added the oats. You can cover the pan while the oatmeal is cooking to make it cook faster but keep the cover a little bit off the top of the pan so that the oatmeal doesn't raise all the way to the top and run over.

Congratulations! You just made your fresh natural whole all home made hot amazingly good oatmeal and you deserve to eat it too!

Put it in a pretty bowl and put anything else you like in it.

Butter, oil, avocado, salt, pepper, or sweet stuff like dried or fresh fruits, berries, roasted or raw nuts, anything you choose really.

I love oatmeal. I usually just put frozen fruit in it for flavoring, then heat it up. Very tasty!

Too much waffle, you're only making porridge for goodness sake. I've been cookin and eating this for years, in fact I could have made it and eaten it in the time it takes to read this padded out article.

It's stainless steel, not "stainless still". And "ceveral" is spelled with an s, not a c.
